Frequently asked questions

Booking, payments, safety and walking with us — answered. Still stuck? Our team is one message away.

How do I find a dog walker near me?
Enter your city or ZIP code (or tap the location arrow) on the search page. You'll see approved walkers who serve your area, with their prices, services, availability and reviews. Filter by service, date, dog size and price.
How are walkers screened?
Every walker creates a detailed profile, uploads a government-issued photo ID and consents to a background check. Our team reviews each application before it can be booked. Profiles show badges such as "ID verified" and "Background checked" only after we have confirmed them.
How much does a dog walk cost?
Walkers set their own prices. A 30-minute walk in most US cities typically costs $18–$30, with an optional fee for each additional dog. You always see the full price — including extra dogs — before you pay.
When am I charged?
You pay when you book, using your wallet balance or a card/online payment method. The money is held by FindDogWalker and is only released to your walker after the service is completed. If the walker declines, you are refunded to your wallet automatically.
What is the cancellation policy?
Requests that haven't been confirmed yet can be cancelled at any time for a full refund. Confirmed bookings can be cancelled online for a full refund up to 24 hours before the start time. Inside that window, please contact support.
Can I meet the walker before booking?
Yes — and we recommend it. Use the Message button on any profile to ask questions and arrange a short meet-and-greet before your first booking.
What if my walker doesn't respond?
If a walker hasn't confirmed your request by the start time, it expires and your payment is refunded to your wallet so you can book someone else straight away.
Can I book for more than one dog?
Yes. Add all your dogs to your profile and select them when booking. Each walker sets how many dogs they take at once and the price for each additional dog.
How do I become a walker?
Create a free walker account, complete your profile (photo, bio, location, services and prices, weekly availability) and upload your ID. Once approved, owners nearby can find and book you.
How much do walkers earn and how are they paid?
You set your prices. FindDogWalker keeps a 15% service fee on completed bookings and the rest goes to your balance. Request a payout once you reach the minimum and we send it by PayPal, bank transfer, Zelle or Venmo.
Is my personal information shared?
Walkers only see your service address on a confirmed booking. Your exact address is never shown on public pages, and walker locations are shown on maps only approximately.
What if something goes wrong?
Contact us through the Support page or the Contact form any time. In an emergency involving your dog, always contact your vet or local emergency services first.
