Privacy Policy

FindDogWalker ("we", "us") operates finddogwalker.com, a marketplace that connects dog owners ("Owners") with independent dog walkers and pet sitters ("Walkers"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email, phone number, username, password (stored hashed), country and address details you provide.
  • Pet information: your dogs' names, breed, size, age, photos and care notes.
  • Walker profile information: photo, bio, experience, service area, prices, availability and, for verification, a government-issued ID document that is stored privately and only accessible to our review team.
  • Bookings and payments: booking details, service address, transaction records. Card payments are processed by our payment providers; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Messages and reviews: messages exchanged on the platform and reviews you publish.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser, device and approximate location derived from your IP, collected for security and fraud prevention.

How we use information

  • To create and run your account and show your public profile (Walkers).
  • To process bookings, payments, refunds and payouts.
  • To let Owners and Walkers communicate and to send booking notifications.
  • To verify Walkers, keep the platform safe and prevent fraud.
  • To improve our services and, if you opt in, send occasional newsletters.

What we share

We share an Owner's name, dogs and service address with a Walker only for a confirmed booking. Public Walker profiles show first name, last initial, photo, approximate area (never a street address), services, prices and reviews. We share data with service providers that help us run the platform (hosting, email, payments, mapping) under appropriate safeguards, and when required by law. We do not sell personal information.

Location data

Search uses the city or ZIP code you enter, or your device location if you choose "use my location". Walker locations are geocoded from their ZIP code or address and displayed on maps only approximately (to about one kilometer).

Retention

We keep account data while your account is active and for as long as needed for legal, tax and dispute-resolution purposes. Walker ID documents are deleted once no longer needed for verification or compliance.

Your choices and rights

You can update most information from your dashboard. You may request a copy of your data, correction or deletion by contacting us. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU/UK), you may have additional rights, which we honor.

Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls and private storage for sensitive documents. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Children

FindDogWalker is not intended for anyone under 18. Walkers must be at least 18 years old.
